This lesson is simple.

Remember The Law of the Hole: when you are in a hole. Don’t dig!

The understanding and application is almost too simple to even write about. In our marriages whenever we sense that we are in a hole. You’ve said or did something you should not have, or the two of you are in a financial mess, or whatever – the key is to stop, realize that you are below the level you want to maintain, come together and get on terms to plan to get out of the situation. But never, ever keep digging.
